Ince no one uite knows where Bethlehem is He wants to use Jesse Jones for his connections Or h The writing was great The characters were well written However the only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because of the NateJesse relationship It was a bit abusive physically on Jesse's part and emotionally on both their parts It makes sense seeing as these are two gay teenagers living in a backwards thinking town that it would be so angsty but I wish it wasn't Nate puts Jesse at too high a pedestal even thinking of him as his Jesse god The relationship is unhealthy but understandable in their situation Despite not rooting for the main couple I found myself rooting for Nate to leave town Saying this is a romance story about two teenagers in love in a town that doesn't approve is wrong I like to think of it as a story of a boy struggling to leave his horrible home town Jesse Jones is only a tool to help him leave Without Jesse Jones Nate would probably have stuck around Bethlehem unhappily as it is implied Eric does Jesse Jones is just the person who finally gets him to leave Not to say their relationship doesn't eventually mature into a healthy one but not to say it does either That's up to the reader But again told as a story of a boy leaving town it's a great story Nate is a horrible person because of how and where he was raised but once he leaves town there's hope that he'll change into a better person Someone who doesn't play games with people's hearts The ending with the CIA internship offer is a bit farfetched but it wraps the story nicely I suppose All in all great writing and journey but not a relationship I'd want people to try to emulate El caso Banchero physically on Jesse's The Pleasure Trap part and emotionally on both their Watching Natalie Cheat parts It makes sense seeing as these are two gay teenagers living in a backwards thinking town that it would be so angsty but I wish it wasn't Nate For Just Cause puts Jesse at too high a It Feels Good to Be Yourself: A Book About Gender Identity pedestal even thinking of him as his Jesse god The relationship is unhealthy but understandable in their situation Despite not rooting for the main couple I found myself rooting for Nate to leave town Saying this is a romance story about two teenagers in love in a town that doesn't approve is wrong I like to think of it as a story of a boy struggling to leave his horrible home town Jesse Jones is only a tool to help him leave Without Jesse Jones Nate would Teeth in the Mist probably have stuck around Bethlehem unhappily as it is implied Eric does Jesse Jones is just the The Information Technology Revolution: The Complete Guide person who finally gets him to leave Not to say their relationship doesn't eventually mature into a healthy one but not to say it does either That's up to the reader But again told as a story of a boy leaving town it's a great story Nate is a horrible The State of Water person because of how and where he was raised but once he leaves town there's hope that he'll change into a better Solutions Manual for Insulation Coordination for Power Systems person Someone who doesn't Garfield Swallows His Pride play games with Titanshade people's hearts The ending with the CIA internship offer is a bit farfetched but it wraps the story nicely I suppose All in all great writing and journey but not a relationship I'd want AI Weiwei's Blog: Writings, Interviews, and Digital Rants, 2006-2009 people to try to emulate

Nate may be Mr Popular of Bethlehem Kansas but he’s not entirely sure that’s saying much s I didn't purposely set out to do this but it seems like I'm working my way through all the fanfic I read and loved back when I joined GR in 2012So here we areI absolutely adored Out of Orbit when I first read it Back then I didn't really pay attention to word counts because I couldn't make a precise connection between the number of words in a fic and the actual length of the fic but now I realize this is a long ass fic This is almost 200k people And I gobbled it up in less than 24 hoursIt's this strange mix of slightly absurd mystery romp and coming of age plus love story The mystery part is what kickstarts everything but it uickly takes a backseat to Nate's own story which is a surprisingly insightful and beautifully written look at a gay teenager's life in small town AmericaThe whole thing is vaguely demented I'm not gonna lie It's energetic and humorous and full of non stop action be it house parties or fights or just what goes on in Nate's brain and it's incredibly charming and grippingSome developments and characters are somewhat surreal and hyperbolic but Nate is the narrator and Nate is a little scrambled in the brain himself so it only makes sense And even though there are parts that didn't uite work for me I can't help but respect and appreciate the accuracy and subtlety of what the author did with Nate as a character and his experiencesThis has a special place in my heart it's one of the very few stories that I could still remember almost perfectly years after first reading it and utterly loved rereading all the same The Secret Life And Brutal Death Of Mamie Thurman purposely set out to do this but it seems like I'm working my way through all the fanfic I read and loved back when I joined GR in 2012So here we areI absolutely adored Out of Orbit when I first read it Back then I didn't really The Tavern on Maple Street pay attention to word counts because I couldn't make a The Automatic Millionaire: A Powerful One-Step Plan to Live and Finish Rich precise connection between the number of words in a fic and the actual length of the fic but now I realize this is a long ass fic This is almost 200k El caso Banchero people And I gobbled it up in less than 24 hoursIt's this strange mix of slightly absurd mystery romp and coming of age The Pleasure Trap plus love story The mystery Watching Natalie Cheat part is what kickstarts everything but it uickly takes a backseat to Nate's own story which is a surprisingly insightful and beautifully written look at a gay teenager's life in small town AmericaThe whole thing is vaguely demented I'm not gonna lie It's energetic and humorous and full of non stop action be it house For Just Cause parties or fights or just what goes on in Nate's brain and it's incredibly charming and grippingSome developments and characters are somewhat surreal and hyperbolic but Nate is the narrator and Nate is a little scrambled in the brain himself so it only makes sense And even though there are It Feels Good to Be Yourself: A Book About Gender Identity parts that didn't uite work for me I can't help but respect and appreciate the accuracy and subtlety of what the author did with Nate as a character and his experiencesThis has a special Teeth in the Mist place in my heart it's one of the very few stories that I could still remember almost The Information Technology Revolution: The Complete Guide perfectly years after first reading it and utterly loved rereading all the same

This free online story is uite an achievement firstly for the author in writing such a long and detailed coming of age romance and secondly for the reader to get through it all The first part of the book is simply stunning All the shenanigans and adventures the boys have the secret lives of the residents of Bethlehem and the fatal attraction between high school students Jesse Jones the skinny uiet new kid and Nate the popular bad boy are brilliantly executed Many times while reading this I was reminded of Stephen King's short story and the movie Stand By Me It's by turns funny romantic and creepy Gradually the story becomes about Nate and Jesse's romance and there are several Big Misunderstandings some of which which were hard to swallow The big showdown between the kids was also surprising to me A couple of the kids acted very out of character in terms of how they were presented in the rest of the story And Josh Jones' character just confused me The ending is a HEA with a great driving into the sunset theme There is a wonderful subplot concerning a fallen satellite and a maybe CIA agent masuerading as a priest that is also brought to a fabulous conclusion in the finaleI loved it Recommended for fans of online fic GFY and long stories with plenty of drama humour and secondary characters galorePS Love 'Syphillis Girl' After you read the story check out the author's notes after the chapter in which she introduces Syphillis Girl who is based on a real life kid she knew at school

Very good mm romance about a high school senior who has a crush on his best friend although it takes him a while and a lot of angst to realize it This story had plenty of over the top moments satellites and spies and baseball memorabilia oh my but it pretty much worked anyway I got sniffly than once

35 starsWell this is a long coming of agecoming out story that has left me in two minds about it Narrated from Nate's POV I found for a large part of the story Nate coming across as a rather obnoxious selfish jerk as he deals with his confusing feelings for Jesse while still trying to remain popular with his school mates in a town where homosexuality is a sign of Satan Obviously this is rather difficult to do and as a result he alienates nearly everyone at one stage or another Jesse his best friend other school mates teachers and his family Yet somehow by the end he has managed to grow up not completely; that would be too great a change lol and sort out mostly who he is and what's important to him He then takes a stance based on those conclusions and stands by it even when the times get really tough and his response is a little over the top Having found his character fairly unappealing at times it was a bit of a shock to actually like him by the end The story could do with a tighter edit as sometimes things went a little too far on tangents but I do think the tangents for the most part seem to reflect Nate's see sawing emotions fairly accurately Perhaps not the easiest story to read but it did convey Nate's bewilderment at what life was throwing at him

It was ok I just don't like people who can't pull their head out of their butt for that long People who like prolonged drama would be suited to this

I enjoyed the main character and the setting and I found the many of the other characters in the story amusing as well I found myself laughing at several parts because the MC's a uniue character in an unusual predicament The end got me thinking that there should be a seuel or maybe even just an epilogue since small spoiler alert? the characters had just gotten together and set off which was something that we the readers had been anticipating the entire time
