The couple in this book spend very little time together only meeting six times and some of those times just in passing So it was hard for me to believe that they were really in love The girl inherits a house in Ireland and a good chunk of change from the hero's deceased aunt He is not resentful about this since he is pretty well off himself He had been injured 10 years prior to their meeting and was paralyzed down one side of his body and suffered from painful attacks from time to time that were very debilitating Shortly after meeting the heroine his old fiance comes home and he decides to have surgery at her recommendation So what's the heroine to think but that he has fallen for his past love again After his surgery it is close to a year before he and the heroine meet again She didn't write or make an attempt to see him after his surgery which made it hard for me to believe that she was crazy about him as the author tries to convey
