I reread it because someone said he was celibate but he wasn't It was just his thoughts and he didn't seem to mind if she had a lover well kind of I guess but he probably most likely I am almost positive he wasn't celibate But at least we didn't get details about it He just said no one could assuage his sex drive Yuk But he did miss her in bed and wanted her back And even when he was cruel you could tell he loved her but I hated that he just blamed her for not telling him but he was pretty cruel in the way he treated her that night I did like how much he loved his son And I knew the wannabe OW was just a wannabe I added a star because I am a major freak about celibAcy So don't judge the book based on my review I am a seriously jealous bitter woman with a tendency to over react My poor husband I will never forgive him or let him forget That's why we are still married I can't divorce him and let him be happy with someone else now can I Inconcievable Lol

This book has trope I usually like the chick who finds out she is a mistress and didn't even know it Some authors can overcome the hero's initial ass hattery and arrogance and prove dementia preventing love with a solid good panicky grovel but not this timeLauren is in a passionate affair with Ramon and shockarama finds herself facing a little blue line Over the course of the evening the big R makes it clear he is not in it for the long haul He is a Duue back in Spain and needs to marry another blue blood How he treats her in this one scene is enough for justifiable homicide but the h spurns his generous offer of allowing her to stay his mistress Words ever woman wants to hear Yes you Two years later the H is back and manipulating Lauren into working for him Nice change of pace Ms Shaw she is an attorney and not a cleaner or the ever present PA Blah blah MOC Passion out the wahoo OW Suddenly he is head over heels I just didn't buy it Plus he was so horribly arrogant and cruelly dismissive

A wonderful readabsolutely loved the characters and how all explanations were give as to how and why the characters beliefs were and their behaviourbasic plot is of secret babyRamon is only son of Duke and its been drilled in his head that he has to marry a spanish aristrocrat family girl and provide heir and do his duty so he wants to enjoy his freedomhis reputation is that of a playboy his affairs does'nt last longer then few weeks and he does'nt trust women cause of a bad experiencethen Lauren and Ramon meetRamon is in love with her but keeps saying to himself no he only sees her as his mistress and keeps denying to himself he loves her Lauren loves himthen she is expecting their child and she asks him what is their future to which Ramon cruelly makes her see that she is only a mistress to him and will always be that only cause his duty is to marry a spanish aristrocrat girl and provide heirLauren is heart broken and ends their affair then and there after 18 months they meet again and from there again their love journey starts againRamon liked his character he is a moralistic man and he knows what is expected of him and he is ready to fulfill all the duty when time comes but till then he wants to enjoy his freedomhe loves his family a lotRamon is a good songood brothergood business man and adorable father alsobut i disliked one thing about him when he comes to know of his son he is angry i understand that but the way he saya Lauren is not a good mother cause she leaves Mateo in daycare for her job and dismisses all her efforts and hardwork to give Mateo the best as to nothinghe says bluntly its not as good as it should be he only sees how she hid her son but he never sees Mateo is such a happy child and Lauren regrets and explains her decision to keep Mateo a secret and apologises for it then once but till the end he never acknowledges her apologies but when he understands Laurens need for her independence and to keep working he supports herLauren is a great strong willed womanabsolutely liked the fact she never gives away her independenceshe has been through a lot in her childhood and has trusting problems but she is a great mother she always give Mateo the best of the best no matter how hard she has to work but she gives him the best and Mateo is wonderful kidthe rejections Lauren faced felt really bad for her but the way she stood and handled everything was applaudableGood readRecommend it

So the story goes like this; the female character Lauren is a successful lawyer who comes from a broken home after her father walks out on her and her mother Lauren still has emotional scarring from this time She has been having an affair with the rich Ramon the male character with whom she has fallen in love and just discovered she is pregnant Ramon comes from Spanish nobility and is a self confessed playboy who fears the day he will have to settle down and marry a suitable blue blooded Spanish wife He considers Lauren only as his latest mistress and when Lauren discovers this she makes the hard decision to break things of and have her baby alone In the time that they are apart Ramon finds himself thinking about Lauren and devises a plot to get her to work for him which is full of tension especially when he finds out Lauren has kept his son a secret He then forces them both to Spain and sets out to make Lauren marry himThis is an okay book I have to be honest and thought it would be slightly better I'm not saying its bad it's just okay I'm sure you get the idea The start of the book was good Lauren seemed like a great character she seemed to be independent and fiery and when she ended the relationship after finding out how little she meant to Ramon I thought go Lauren However once her secret was discovered her character seemed to go from independent and fiery to needy and a bit of a push over It also seemed to me that as someone who had experience of men who take women for granted from her fathers behaviour she wouldn't have got involved with Ramon in the first place Of course you can't help who you fall for I'm sure many of us have learnt that the hard wayHowever despite this the passion between the two characters was intense and the banter between them was also very good this was definitely a highlight in the bookOriginally posted at

His Unknown Heir is not a super exciting book with tons of angst or betrayal Instead it is about two strong independent people who try their best to compromise and make their relationship work when they realized it was a relationship they both wanted Lauren is great She's a smart hard working lawyer who values her independence and refuses to rely on anyone for either emotional or financial help She is part of a big law firm specializing in commercial property and she's very proud of her career When she meets Ramon she's than capable of conducting a no strings affair with him since she understands where he's coming from they both value their careers and are uninterested in pursuing something serious with the goal of marriage It isn't until she finds herself pregnant that she really allows herself to think about love and a long term relationship Lauren has a very logical side to her and she plays everything close to the chest Even when Ramon was telling her that she was only mistress material she did not start throwing things or tell him that she was in love with him Instead she just called things off with him and walked away Ramon is so sweet Yes he's the typical HP alpha male who thinks everyone should simply bow to his commands but when he finds out that he is a father he throws himself into taking care of his son with enthusiasm and determination He feeds him changes his diapers gives him baths etc Ramon is simply in love with his son from first sight He also tries his best to see where Lauren is coming from when she tells him that giving up her career to become a full time wife and mom is not something she is comfortable with He tried arguing with her about it but when he realized that she was serious he did his best to find a compromise that would make them both happy Ramon is not a complete jerk which is what really makes him wonderful He's arrogant but he's not cruel or mean He doesn't try to punish Lauren for keeping his son from him Instead he tries to build a relationship with her based upon his strong belief that a child needs both his mother and father to grow up happy and healthy There was some drama stemming from the fact that Lauren has trust issues but these two are solid and I just love how their relationship played out They're both strangely mature for such damaged and stubborn people always putting their son first while trying to work out the mechanics of their own relationship They're both uick to apologize which was refreshing and this made any possibility for a prolong angst fest nil I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes their characters strong and compassionate who are willing to make sacrifices but also acknowledge their own needs while seeking a good compromise between life and love

Not too bad I couldn't figure out if Lauren had given her v card to Ramon I didn't feel the love between them anyways with the brief prologue to feel for their HEA It was a drag by the second half of the book too Ramon was however an alpha lover He also took tender care of Lauren when she's sick The extended mistress trope was a yawn fest
