This book by Diana Vincent is probably aimed at teenaged girls but I really enjoyed it although my teen years are a very distant memory The book is well written with a lovely plotline It is somewhat predictable but entertaining anywayMs Vincent is knowledgeable on the subject her descriptions of euestrian life are accurate down to the smallest detail She does a great job of capturing the “politics” of competition and teen hierarchyA great read that will have you breathless as you imagine galloping up a long hill to a sturdy log jump then plunging across a water crossing for a winning finish I can almost smell the horse sweat

What happens when you love horses? That depends upon who you are and what you do with that love This book shows the best part of what happens when someone really takes the time to educate themselves about what it is they're passionate about And as a counter point it also displays what happens when a rider blindly trusts another without building a knowledge of their own There are many moral and ethical lessons in this book The great thing about this book is anyone can read it just for fun The morality is built in and the other riders aren't portrayed as bad; they're people with the positive and negative traits They win and they lose; in shows in school with friends and in life The role of adults as mentors and the responsibility of those mentors runs through this story from the beginning Parents teachers trainers and adult friends all contribute What could Chelsea's father have done to show his daughter the responsibility of caring for our euine partners? How could the trainer have modeled this? Why does Tess have a problem teaching and riding in a way that would be a good role model? I'm delighted that this story goes on As a good read as a book about what it means to be responsible for another person horse friend parent as a conversation starter and because I just want to know what happens to the characters I look forward to reading the rest of the series

These books are truly amazing I have read every single one so far and would recommend them to anyone who loves I am a teen now so as a kid growing up fiction horsey books were always a bit too child like for my likings but this grown up style book is an extremely good page turner Diana has perfectly divided the balance between horses and the real world creating a fun thrilling book for horsey people With having horses and being in school finding the time to read can be difficult but when I was reading these books I had to make time Best books I have ever read
