Take a look at my review of the first book in Diane Dooley's Blue Universe for the first chapter of Javan and Sola's storyAnd it's impossible to review book two without spoiling book one at least a little I want you to discover this world for yourself Much fun that wayAt the end of Blue Galaxy Javan and Sola have of a Happy For Now than a Happy Ever After Not because they aren't crazy in love with each other but because the entire universe really is out to get themSola is determined that the only way she and Javan can have their happiness forever is if she goes home and gets rid of the enemy who is dogging their every step There are only a few problems with her plan1 Their enemy is the all powerful Dictator of Earth2 He's Sola's daddy3 Sola is pregnant4 Daddy dearest inserted some really messed up bio engineered programming into Sola that is messing up her pregnancy and her emotional balanceAnd then there's the really big problem her daddy the dictator planned all of this except Sola's pregnancy because he wanted Sola to take over from him He's dying He wants her to be the next dictatorSola only knows what she wants when she turns off all her enhancements But without her enhancements she's not sure she can survive everything that's being thrown at her Especially after her programming makes her give Javan up But it can't make her forget himNo matter how many times she puts her memories of him into data storage Love is stronger than programming Love can conuer everythingEscape Rating B Blue Nebula was every bit as good as Blue Galaxy I loved finding out about Sola and her world In the first story she's such an enigma Here we find out what happened to her But then so does sheThere's also a lot of heartbreak Not just for Sola and Javan but also for Destin Grady who loved Sola and lost her twice I kind of hope there will be a seuel where he finally gets another chance at happiness with someone else He's finally earned oneI do still wish we knew a bit about Daddy Dearest's motivations for totally warping all of his children He was just plain way out there I kind of get why he became dictator but not the stuff he did to turn his children into monstersBlue Galaxy and Blue Nebula pack a LOT of story into surprisingly short novels I still wish there were

Disclaimer I got my copy freeThis is the 2nd book in the Blue series by the talented Diane Dooley Sola and Javan are back and in as much danger as ever but this time they might be their own worst enemies Personally I think people would enjoy this story if they read it right after the first one both are short enough that I hope they're someday released together hint hint I love the cover The look on Javan's face just gets me I still really like him The plot in this surprised me with it's twists and turns It's a much internal journey than an action packed ride The first book introduced us to Javan while leaving Sola a mystery This book tells us all about Sola's tortured soul I really felt for her in this story The only downers to me were that I think some of the scenes could have been longer and that Javan seemed too willing to do what I didn't think he'd do trying to avoid spoilers That conflict being some parts I wish had been longerOverall I really enjoyed this story It made an excellent continuation of the first story The cover rocks Really rocks I don't remember any romance hero cover whose expression I liked as much as I like Javan's on this one

This was a decent read but I think I need to go back and read the first one Sola has had a ton of enhancements done to her by her dictator father She's married to Javan and it turns out she's pregnant She doesn't uite know how to handle this news as she plans on going to Earth to kill her father even though it will be extremely dangerous mission Her husband desperately wants to keep her and the baby safe but Sola is determined to do what is best for Earth even if that means losing Javan Javan seemed to be a good man stuck in a relationship where he wasn't kept in the loop about everything He doesn't like her lies but that is all she has known since she was a child I liked what I saw of Javan but in this read he wasn't there much I think the pair was a good fit for one another once the truths all came out but Sola is not a sympathetic or warm heroine Understandable with her upbringing but made it a bit difficult to get completely warmed up to the relationship I'm planning on reading the first story to see if it helps with my thoughts of her but it wasn't a bad read as is Thanks to NetGalleycom and Carina Press for the chance to read this in exchange for my honest review

A good sci fi read Not the seuel I was expecting but I enjoyed Blue Nebula on its own terms Given Sola's deadly capabilities and her hatred of her emperor father I geared up for an action packed ride What I got was an intriguing space opera novella concerned with who she was what she was and where she came from; it featured the most dysfunctional royal family EVER It also served up several solid twists that complicated Sola's revenge on the old tyrant Javan wasn't given as much to do this time but he remained her lifeline to happinessand sanityAll in all a well done story that stayed true to its pulp SF roots and earned bonus points for going to some pretty dark placesAwaiting Book Three

I did not read the first book in the series but I was never lost The story is very short only about 100 pages but it did fill me in on what happened before so I never felt lost Unfortunately the story was drab and the writing was terrible The heroine is a cyborg and the writing was robotic The story was so short but loaded with twists turns and drama that never got a shot at being fleshed out I didn’t care whether the character’s lived to died and it didn’t really seem like they did either even the one’s who were supposed to be on love Considering there was only one cyborg it seemed odd that all of the character’s seemed to doing the sociopathic imitation of emotions

Not as good as the first but still a lot of fun It seemed underwritten There was really excellent stuff here but it was hurried through A little time and a little explanation would have put flesh on the bones so to speak I particularly think we needed to see of Delia given her importance to Sola
