This was a short uick read that I read for a challenge David Levy is following a story about a Mixed Martial Arts fighter Connor Ryan who is preparing for a big fight David didn't expect Connor to be so hot and sexy and nice he was expecting a mean brute This was a pretty good read this was my first time reading this author This book was very fast pace and I wished that it was longer This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading from this author

Bearding The Lion is a wonderful introduction to these authors containing some easter eggs for longtime followers of their blogs and earlier works such as the brief lecture on how to roll up shirtsleeves or the erotic intensity of the fight scenes This story is a passionate take on brains versus brawn masculine yet compassionate While some would say that this story hinges on the sometimes maligned trope of instalove I counter that Connor and David’s attraction while uickly intimate is way deeper than infatuation but shallow than love This story seems to be setting the foundation for things to come one can only hope However I’m kind of a stickler on reporting seeing that it’s my day job Okay that and I’m jealous One of the first things I learned in j class is that sleeping with your sources is highly discouraged while you’re covering them at least and try not to write while intoxicated Also David is so on the nose and at times arrogant with his style of interviewing that I’m surprised he wasn’t tossed out of the gym black and blue Again these are somewhat petty nitpicks and David does make things right later on I’m just saying why does he get laid and I get blackballed?Bearding the Lion is the debut release of authors J Mercury Jones and Sween McDervish The story their first publishing combines its authors’ strong points such as Jones’s sharp wit and social commentary with McDervish’s knack for passionate brutes Getting it’s start as a one off erotic story online that got a lot of love and praise the authors decided to use the success to pass it forward with proceeds from the sales of this release going to The Trevor Project It’s not surprising that the story took off the way it did Connor and David’s chemistry burns like a smooth brown liuor If you’re looking for a rough uickie with a lil’ heart this is the story for you

DNF at 40% This is not for me I put this book down primarily because of the ethnic stereotypes in the story which I had warning bells about for a while but became certain was only going to get intense when it was included in dirty talk during sex I think the intent was to subvert stereotypes by flipping roles putting details under a spoiler cuz I want to give you a choice whether to read them view spoiler nebbishy weakling bookish Jewish guy in glasses tops burly muscled Irish fighter guy bottoms hide spoiler

Exciting fast paced storyThis is an exciting fast paced story The characters are believable and remind me of people I know The sex scenes are extremely well done and the interactions between Levy and Ryan are very well written Especially the conflict scene I could actually feel Ryan's pain and Levy's confusion The are a couple minor distractions in the story At times the point of view in the conversations shifted mysteriously the person that you expected to be speaking wasn't actually the person speaking The fight scene with the Brit was a little bit glossed over like it was filler between the reconciliation and the make up sex And Kelley the unclegym owner transitions from minor character to relationship counselor out of nowhere None of that really detracts from the story howeverI hope these guys collaborate on stories or even possibly develop this one further I've become a fan after reading Bearding The Lion
