I so enjoyed the story line A little mystery humor and romance It kept my interest especially toward the end to see who and why the murder was committed The sweet romance was just heavy enough to bring back those 'feelings' of younger days Two of my friends have borrowed the book I prefer to read the paperback books because they feel personal and I also like to get an autograph from the author I have read Deadly Undertaking online and also enjoyed the plot

A church is not a place I would expect to be the scene or criminal action but why not? After all congregations are made up of people with all their strengths and failings including greed that worst of sins And the pastor is not a person I would consider either a likely suspect or a likely object of romanceThis is what happens to Christine Hobbs five years a minister of religion divorced two years ago when her husband ran off with another woman nine months the loving loved leader of the church in a little townThis is the theme of “Dangerous Sanctuary” There is a murder and Detective Stephens considers Christine as one of the “people of interest” Intrigue thickens as new characters are introduced and there is attraction as well as hostility between parson and detectiveThe sometimes bizarre humor is the best part of this story This is how it starts with Christine extracting an orphaned cat from under a bed That scene certainly made me want to read on Later the cat is joined improbably by a pig and a kangaroo well wallabySo this is an entertaining read with a few little lessons of forgiveness and trust in God in there without any preachinessI did find the romantic component a little too formulaic and predictable but am aware that millions of books with the self same formula are enjoyed by their target audience which is not me so I need to be tolerant there

Dangerous Sanctuary is a detective story with the bonus of a budding romancePastor Christine Hobbs who thanks God for his guidance and prays to him for help is shocked when the choir master is murdered Cole the detective in charge of the investigation adds Christine to his list of persons of interest So who committed the murder? No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t guess who he or she was A florist an orphan a cat that needs a new home an intelligent pot bellied pig a blind wallaby and a homeless man added amusement interest and suspicion to the story I liked all the characters in the close knit congregation until I found out ‘who done it’I enjoyed this well written enjoyable detective story and look forward to reading of Rose’s novels Dangerous Sanctuary contains no explicit sex

Dangerous Sanctuary is uick paced romantic murder mystery I grew fond of Pastor Christine Hobbs as she struggled to put her life back together after a rough divorce She really didn't need the added upset of a murder in her new church and she really didn't need to be one of the accused But that's what she got and I admired her pluck in trying to solve the murder and keep her church in tactI couldn't guess whodunit so that kept me reading to the end I laughed at some of the animal encounters and as odd as they were the author integrated them well into the story so they belonged and made for some of the lighter momentsThe romance was a little to uick the detective a little too perfect and hunky for my taste I would have liked the relationship to be something possible after the end of the story but that's a personal choice Readers who like happy endings will enjoy this book
