S mercenary William de Ros to escort her to a convent where she can wed God instead of the cruel warrior who is rud to be the devil incarnate Unbeknowst to her. Linnet is a lady straight out of a fairytale she charms animals she dances barefoot in the woods humming songs she's practically Snow White And she's spotted by Baron Warbrooke who wants her sunshine in his war ridden life But her grandfather won't force her into marriage so he agrees to allow Warbrooke some time alone with her to court her Linnet hears of the potential wedding and decides to head for a convent to avoid being married to a brute and incidentally hires Warbrook under his real name William to escort her He uses that time to woo her This was definitely a cute story Linnet was despite her princess like traits no Mary Sue She was actually somewhat irritating what with her collection of animals and packing a million bags for a 6 day journey but this was part of the plot because William has to see beyond the beauty and appreciate her for who she is irritating traits and all And he does I really enjoyed how clueless they both seemed about how to relate to one another So this was a good story but not a particularly memorable one I think It's too short and there isn't much emotional feels happening I was also disappointed that no one brought up the heroine's original opinion about the hero in the explanation for the deception
