What happened to falling in loveAlisa needn't have waited for Justin Abernethy's answer As a divorce lawyer he'd seen too much of romantic love turned sour. Alisa lost the man she loved to her sister but now he wants to renew their relationship It seems like a good time to take her boss up on his offer of a marriage of convenience based on trust and respect rather than love But what will happen to her marriage to Justin if her former lover refuses to go awayThis book seemed somehow better than the average HP to me though I had trouble putting my finger on why The writing is certainly competent but nothing out of the ordinary I think it’s that I found Alisa unusually well drawn and sympathetic Some HP heroine’s thoughts are just a morass of martyrdom and exclamation points Alisa seemed like a sensible person trying to deal honorably with a very painful situation Her difficulty with asserting herself comes across as a human foible rather than an indicator of what a delicate flower she isAnd interestingly when faced with a classic Old Skool style threatened rape Alisa grows a spine She's shocked and angry rather than ashamed andor aroused and makes it very clear there will be conseuences She’s perhaps a little too ready to forgive but in the context it works reasonably wellThe heroine only POV is also nicely done; Justin is believable and understandable throughout and doesn’t reuire 50 pages to explain bizarre behavior at the end Kokoro: de wegen van het hart up on his offer of a marriage of convenience based on trust and respect rather than love But what will happen to her marriage to Justin if her former lover refuses to go awayThis book seemed somehow better than the average HP to me though I had trouble putting my finger on why The writing is certainly competent but nothing out of the ordinary I think it’s that I found Alisa 2 unusually well drawn and sympathetic Some HP heroine’s thoughts are just a morass of martyrdom and exclamation points Alisa seemed like a sensible person trying to deal honorably with a very painful situation Her difficulty with asserting herself comes across as a human foible rather than an indicator of what a delicate flower she isAnd interestingly when faced with a classic Old Skool style threatened rape Alisa grows a spine She's shocked and angry rather than ashamed andor aroused and makes it very clear there will be conseuences She’s perhaps a little too ready to forgive but in the context it works reasonably wellThe heroine only POV is also nicely done; Justin is believable and Managerial Decision Making understandable throughout and doesn’t reuire 50 pages to explain bizarre behavior at the end

Whose own experience of love had taught her a painful lessonActually it seemed as if a marriage of convenience with no romantic frills would suit them bot. This is the first book I read by the author but definitely not the last It is better than typical HP stories with realistic setting and characters behaving as adults The story has my favorite theme of MOC and characters falling in love without even realizing it

When he got married he was determined it would be a match made with his head not his heartAnd who was to say it was the wrong approach Certainly not Alisa.
