This is a wonderful book A perfect balance of text and images with witty and insightful captions beneath the featured illustrationsThis is a much shorter review than I usually right but the text in the book doesn't need much analysis It is fairly straightforward without being simplistic it actually expects knowledge and intelligence on the part of the reader Very well done I cannot stress this enough and a book definitely worth looking at than once I certainly am going to purchase a copy Though a the illustrations selected are all British in origin the book provides a very cosmopolitan look at the war both from a modern perspective and the cosmopolitan nature of the war itself The images are powerful and many are deeply touching Highly recommended
