I would like to thank netgalley and Endeavour Press for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest reviewAn epic historical saga this story sweeps from the battlefield of Waterloo to the birth of the railways It follows Daniel and Laurel who meet at a country fair and with the exchange of a lucky penny change their fates I enjoyed the story especially the scenes that happen at famous events in the period A lot happened in the book it could have been cut down I also enjoyed meeting all of the real life characters like a 14 year old Princess Victoria

I don’t know uite what I thought of this book I thought it was very well written but heavy on the sex scenes I’d picked it up because the cover looked like a Georgette Heyer book but it’s certainly not a cheerful book like that The reality however makes sense families war inheritance always complex
