Already a fan of Whyte Heath's first book I decided to check out They came to Help Us Set in the future this novel has such imaginative but believable ideas for future restrictions on our planet which kept me intrigued throughout I love aliens stories and if Martians made contact I feel they would probably intervene to save us from ourselves Did they really come to help or were the Martians only here to rape our planet? Well I'll let you decide I hope Lynn Whyte Heath writes another book soon because I would love to read from this author

To me this book was a 35 star read It was engaging because I was curious to see what would happen but I didn't really love any of the characters It seemed set up to be like an X Files episode or that episode of Star Gate where the aliens take over and human women become infertile over time The story seemed constantly poised to pull back the curtain and show what the aliens were really up to I found the ending to be rather anticlimactic and the last sentence really really really didn't add anything

They Came to Help Us by Lynn Whyte Heath is a futuristic sci fi story told by Charlotte a young mother facing the ultimate heartbreak In this world of tomorrow decision making on such things as occupation and family size are in the hands of the government and an outside agency who came to help us A great sci fi read

The basic story in this is sound but I feel that the characters aren't fully fleshed out This means a lot of the time there is very little holding it all together and the interaction between the characters often leaves a lot to be desired The dialogue between the characters is very stilted which lends a falsity to what is needed to support what could be an awesome plot line I love the idea of humans and martians working together for mutual gain and the concept of human elders going to live on what could be termed a utopian style planet where they can live in peace while doing the things they love most to do is outstanding I would definitely like to see this idea fleshed out and taken further because as I said the basic story line is brilliantI was given an e copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review

THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW ITWhen all hope is lost and thousands are being killed by terrorists a large proportion of humans embrace the intervention of Martians and are willing to bide by their strict conditions and resettlement programmes no uestions asked They accept that anyone who actively rebels against the system will be removed from the planet by the aliens whilst others that did not pose a threat were simply hypnotised to make them compliant This story focuses on Charlotte's plight when one of her babies are taken away from her in the delivery room Although distraught by the incident she becomes determined to prove she isn't going mad Refusing to let herself succumb to the mind control imposed by the aliens she sets about finding answers to her uestions
