This is one of my all time favorite books and I reread it every few years Michael Strelow's debut novel hits it out of the ballpark in many ways His characters are uirky and memorable and his scenarios while seeming unlikely at first become easily believable because of his gift of descriptive prose; I can visualize the scene and it's like watching one of those half waking off the wall dreams that I have when I take an afternoon nap It doesn't all make sense at first yet it still seems very real Ben and Andrew's trip down a river to conduct espionage on the chemical company they are sure is dumping toxins for instance; what makes it so uirky and fun is how Ben built the raft they used

    A thoughtful book about a protagonist's experience in my home town Also the most boring novel I've encountered in a while Sorry Mr Strelow I might be willing to give this one another shot being that I wasn't in the best mood while trying to slog through it but I just couldn't get into this one
