In her old life Isabella DeMarco lived in New York with her father and had just started to fall for a handsome police lieutenant Then she learned the truth she is Gifted a powerful magic userIn her new world Jean. This book would definitely make a good script It completely lends itself to a visual presentation with the constant action between New York City and New Orleans and its environs The characters have become familiar but I still didn’t feel any connection with them It’s basically a plot driven story and that’s the main basis of its success thus far On a personal level I can say that the action kept me engaged and excited to learn about the magical families and their governing structures and alliances not to mention the dual bonds that Izzy has formed with Pat and Jean Marc To be honest I think Izzy's a very confused understandable of course given her situation but it would be nice if she would just choose A third contender entered the picture and I thought this was going to go completely Anita Blake on me Thankfully it didn'tAlthough I believe that it surpasses the first installment I can only say that it was okay at best This is definitely not going to be favourite re read but I would recommend it if you like a little fantasy with a little sex and had a few hours to killSpeaking of sex sex magic Really She did attempt to use it in the first book and I suppose it was successful but Izzy and Jean Marc were another kettle of fish Apparently sex for the Gifted is a transmission of power and not lovemaking you just keep telling yourself that there Jean Marc These scenes are a bit lukewarm Spicing it up with Jean Marc turning them into animals while they commune for lack of a better word just doesn’t sound that appealing Neither does climaxing as a comet or a shimmer of light which did not sound metaphorical at all I believe Nalini Singh's angel sex was much interesting and I had a few disparaging comments about the angels’ flightI’m still going to read the next one The ending was definitely promising as it revealed something rather interesting I just hope it at least maintains the level of excitement and intrigue with just the right amount of spice

Ean Marc is injured Izzy is caught between fighting off a powerful vampire and opening her House to a potentially treacherous ally And now the lives of the people she cares about most may be sacrificed for her own. I guess you could say this is the second book in this series which continues the story of Isabelle DeMarco Overall I thought the story was good but it is not one of those I would read again andor stay up late to finish The action horror and suspense aspects were cool though; and I liked watching the sparks fly between Izzy and Jean Marc I especially liked how the lead female was strong and idependent Although you didn't necessarily need to read Daughter of the Flames it is helpful to fully understand some of scenes and parts of this story I personally wouldn't recommend this book others but would encourage readers to decide for themselves

Really? She did attempt to use it in the first book and I suppose it was successful but Izzy and Jean Marc were another kettle of fish Apparently sex for the Gifted is a transmission of power and not lovemaking you just keep telling yourself that there Jean Marc These scenes are a bit lukewarm Spicing it up with Jean Marc turning them into animals while they commune for lack of a better word just doesn’t sound that appealing Neither does climaxing as a comet or a shimmer of light which did not sound metaphorical at all I believe Nalini Singh's angel sex was much interesting and I had a few disparaging comments about the angels’ flightI’m still going to read the next one The ending was definitely promising as it revealed something rather interesting I just hope it at least maintains the level of excitement and intrigue with just the right amount of spice

Why? When did that happen? Nothing she says before that point justifies that This non relationship is just a flimsy placeholder for the ideal of the normal life with a husband and kids Holder should've made it a real relationship That would have made the tension between her old life and the new one palpable and interesting Then in this book she has sex with JeanMarc who tells her that it's not about making love it's only a transfer of power Bullshit The start of that sex scene was a romance fantasy cliché The end of it with him trying to dominate her was a bit off putting The whole thing was a lazy thinly disguised pretext to give Izzy an excuse to sleep with JeanMarc without having to feel guilty Let her be in love with two men Let her sleep with both of them even But own it Don't pussyfoot around A little guilt would probably make Izzy make complex and real
