R’s first key Charlotte will uest around the world to solve the puzzle and reveal its secretUnless Emerick gets her first. Usually I like the first book in series way better than second book but this is not the case in this series I liked this book so much than the first I like the building of characters and Sometimes Charlotte got on my nerves but most of the time I just needed to know what was going to happen next Dahlia Black uest around the world to solve the puzzle and reveal its secretUnless Emerick gets her first. Since I read these books continuously one after the other I decided to post a combined review In general I enjoyed the premise of the story and the events that occurred to take it forward The story is written decently and will ensure the reader continues on until the end The author manages to build up some amount of mystery and intrigueHowever the protagonist is decent at best but she gets rather whiny and annoying Her attentions are directed towards the two guys showering her with attention and she is torn between them in the usual cliched style At times she comes across as shallow and at others someone with a strong mind She sets out to find the meaning to the clues left behind by her parents As the story unfolds the reader is drawn into a world of drama secrets betrayalThe story lacked in precise character development and a deeper premise than was there It was easy to figure out what might happen next and the books did not have me wanting to keep turning the pages Having said this there are parts that are interesting and had potential A stronger focus on the characters with complex personalities and a slightly interesting twist to the plot would have made it gripping Though there was some adventure and mystery thrown in it just made the story confusing It was just another book in the usual style of having a clue and trying to decipher it while also trying to keep it away from the bad guysBottom line Read the book You may or may not like it but you can form an opinion by yourself

Loved the story a few minor technical concernsI've enjoyed reading both books in this series I look forward to finishing the trilogy when the final book comes out in 2017 Rebecca Taylor truly has a refreshing gift for creative writing I look forward to reading of her work as she further develops her writing career This was one series that had me reading hours beyond bedtime From page one of Ascendant I was transported into the story connected easily with the characters By the final page I couldn't wait to continue the story so I downloaded Midheaven at midnight kept readingMost of the time the plot was easy to follow However there were a few gaps in this book that weren't a smooth transition from one paragraph to the next I did find myself rereading those parts to see if I had missed something This was only a minor distraction I moved past it to be drawn back into the storyOther minor concerns that I had with both books were a few misspelled misused or repeated words that weren't caught before publication For this reason my keen eye for editing just couldn't give this book 5 stars
