In the inescapable People Rule Inn and experience a place where nightmares are real Travel through the depressing Valley of Shadows and meet dark creatures you have never imagined Join Carter and Kat as they venture Beyond the Dead Forest and discover with our heroes the unsurpassable riches of wisdom that can empower you to change your life and your wor. This book was a departure from the kind of books I normally read but I have to say I really enjoyed itIt took me a little time to get into it at first but to be honest that was down to me and time constraints than anything else There was an element of fantasy to the story which I wouldn't normally be drawn to when choosing a book to read but I've got to say it's opened up the range I would read now The characters were well developed and it was very easy to put yourself in their shoes and imagine the choice they had to make were your own There was a very clear message throughout the book about morality right and wrong and the choice of good over evil However this was written extremely well and in a way that made you think about the choices you would make yourself in the situations and you really want the characters to make the 'right' choices throughout the storyI would recommend this book and I certainly look forward to reading by this author in the futureI received this book for free through Goodreads first reads

This was a VERY fun readThis book was not your usual fantasy Steve Groll used it as a tool to share that good over evil will win every time which I think is wonderful There are too many books out there that show that evil is fun and good This was a GREAT book The two main characters Kat and Carter were very well developed They find a forest that is not like any forest they had ever been in They had tried taking pictures of it so they could show everyone and the pictures didn't turn out They tried taking a parent into the forest but couldn't find it It seems like the forest was made just for them When they go back to the forest they encounter a crazy man who pursues them throughout their journey They meet a guardian who likes to be called Guard Guard helps the children make choices throughout the story that help them escape places like the People Rule Inn This is a great story for kids I would recommend for all ages Read Beyond the Dead Forest You won't regret it

Beyond the Dead Forest is a book with depth and layered meanings I enjoyed reading about Carter and Kat's adventures in the strange places they visited along their journey The events in the story catalyze their inner growth and increased their determination wits and strength This book is interesting and likable but I believe it would be better if the story is cut short as it is intended for middle graders and it spanned a good 416 pages I discovered some typos and found some strange dialogues and descriptions But anyway this book is nicely written and would be a great gift for young readers

Kat and Carter are best friends always looking for an adventure and new location to go exploring One day a forest appears in their neighborhood and their lives will never be the same because of it Throughout the book you follow Kat and Carter along their journey through the Dead Forest They are faced with continuous trials and tribulations always testing their character They are offered help from the Guardian lead astray by the Adversary and encounter many interesting characters and towns There is really never a dull moment as they make their way through the Dead ForestI loved reading this novel I felt like I was in the adventure right along with Kat and Carter uestioning how I would react and what path I would choose as each situation presented itself While reading i often reflected back to my bible study days and enjoyed recognizing the familiar tales in the situations Kat and Carter found themselves in Dead Forest is extremely well written and I felt like the author was sitting in the room telling the stories to me I look forward to tales from this author whether we follow Kat and Carter once again or another pair of lucky children on their way to discovery Thank you to Steve and Goodreads for the opportunity to read and receive this book

Beyond the Dead Forest by Steve Groll draws you in and doesn't let goCarter and Kat are best friends that know the area in which they live like the back of their handsthat is until the 'dead forest' appears one day and is unlike anything they've ever seen On this particular visit they meet a strange manand their journey begins Carter and Kat takes the adventure of their lives that changes everything they've known and has the potential to change their whole livesand the lives of everyone they come in contact with Steve does a wonderful job pulling the reader into the story and lets you experience the journey along with Carter and Kat You catch yourself trying to make decisions right along with them and wondering if you'd be able to make the 'hard' choices that they door if you'd take the easy way out Beyond the Dead Forest is a lesson in faith love and unselfishness The Advesary tries to do all he can to mislead the partners but they have the ultimate champion the Guardianbut they have to make the choice on who to follow This is one of the best books I've read that explain things about the bible choices and faith that is aimed at our youth and is great for adults as well What does it mean to believe have faith and to make choices even hard ones when you are a Christian There are always choices but only the right ones will set you free

Beyond the Dead Forest is a captivating tale that I would linken somewhat to Oz or A Series of Unfortunate Events Steven Groll wastes little time sending the reader on a bizarre uest with two young friends Carter and Kat His skillful crafting of dialogue carries the story well And while the entire saga takes place in a realm called the Dead Forest there are certainly no ‘dead spots’ for the reader in this book I loved the characters ― and some of them were wild They are products of a very creative mind It is a challenge to capture those images in words so the reader can see vividly into the authors mind and be a part of the unfolding story Well doneThe plot was unpredictable and refreshing with life lessons throughout I highly recommend Beyond the Dead Forest to all agesI have to admit that this five point rating system is really tough With most books there is room for improvement personal preferences etc so there is a fine line between 4 and five I do wish it was fine tuned a bit
