I have always enjoyed Sue Sallis' work but this novel was somewhat different from the others I have read It was an in depth look into the heroine's mind and in some places I found that rather off putting However it ended as I guessed it would and I must commend Sue for spending a long time to go through every tiny detail of a life fraught with difficulties I would say that its ending was satisfying considering all the traumas that the characters passed through I hope that the next book of hers I read will not be uite like this one but well done Sue

First one from this author by I'm afraid I didn't like her style of writing I found the main character Jess irritating a bit wet There wasn't much of a story I was waiting for what the big mystery link was about the abbey but it never really came Sorry

I always enjoy reading Susan Sallis and Five Farthings was no exception Main character Jess Tavener is in for a few nasty surprises when her life is turned upside down by personal tragedy and her discovery that every member of her family have been keeping secrets from her As these secrets particularly those of her husband are brought to light Jess falls deeper into despair Help of a sort is offered and we're left wondering right up to the book's end if this will be enough

First time in my life I was deceived by a book cover Yes the cover was eye catching and I also read the description on the back page and thought this would be a nice read but gosh it was a big mistake I've never read such a lame book As soon as I finished it I gave it to a friend of mine as a gift not a very close friend and got rid of this junk Susan Sallis Never again
